My TS-431 has worked flawlessly for several years. I haven't changed anything at all recently, other than duly applying recommended software and firmware updates every month or two.
As of this last weekend though, I began getting notifications that 'NAS was shut down improperly', and also noticing the loud beeps signaling when its starting up. So it has apparently decided to just shut down as though the power were cut and rebooting itself all the time.
Then when it reboots, it begins doing a RAID scrub which is estimated to take 70 hours (4x6TB drives). So far it has not even come close to completing a scrub before it restarts improperly again.
I have no idea what's going on. There are no other obvious indications of errors. No smart test errors although I haven't been able to run a long one yet.
Any suggestions?
UPDATE: An update for anyone else having the problem: Rolling back two versions of the software to 4.3.4.0486 worked for me. Been several uneventful days without any reboots now.
Pioneer Update Firmware
UPDATE 2: On builds newer than 4.3.4.0486, I was getting reboots more than once per day. Since rolling back to .0486 two and a half weeks ago, I've had 2 unexpected reboots total. So I'm in a better spot but there is still some issue.
UPDATE 3: Moved to .0644 about 10 days ago. No reboots since so QNAP may have addressed the issue.
