'It won't go down, once it's started it'll continue so you'll have to let it finish,' a developer representative confirmed via Twitter. 'Abstraction are going to investigate to see why it occurred and make sure we can avoid this in the future.'

So, fans of ARK: Survival Evolved will essentially be forced to download the bulk of the entire game before they can hop into the vast and harsh wilderness once again. Although, especially for those who supported Survival Evolved during its early access period, large updates were hardly an uncommon occurrence. Wildcard routinely added and upgraded textures across all platforms, so it wasn't that strange for updates to swell to several dozen gigabytes in size. If the studio hadn't made an official announcement of error, many survivors may have viewed update 1.67 as a fairly typical download.
